TMT was invited to the Spencer Energy Project, it’s developed by Yadlamalka Energy.
The founder behind it is Andrew Doman. It’s a 2MW, 8MWh vanadium redox flow battery
connected to a 6MW PV system.
And it’s the largest commercial project for VRFB’s in the Southern Hemisphere. TMT wanted to show support for the project because, you know, this is a big deal for vanadium redox flow batteries.
It’s connected to the grid.
It’s going to be a project that people can look at and understand what vanadium redox flow batteries can do, so it’s quite an important project.
So the project was partly funded by ARENA, they contributed almost $6 million.
So part of the ARENA funding is that the knowledge that the battery generates its performance, all that’s going to be shared.
There’s a great opportunity for energy providers to become comfortable with the technology
and an opportunity for the technology to show that it’s not just long duration storage, that it shines, especially in the 4 to 8 hours, 4 to 12 hours, but also in the short service ancillary business like the FCAS market.
