Brendan Cummins:
So Black Canyon has had a massive year in 2022 being really excited to continue to deliver results.
Yeah, we’ve really gone out to achieve and make sure that we set those milestones
and we’ve ticked those boxes effectively.
And December 2021, we did a Maiden Drill program out there, then April 2022 we announced the maiden resource of 104 million tonnes at 10.5% manganese.
So off the bat really showing the significance of the project at Flanagan Bore.
In middle of the year we planned and implemented a infill drill programme at Flanagan Bore as well and the result of that was a significant resource upgrade.
So 171 million tonnes at 10.3% manganese.
So on that basis we completed a scoping study as well and the positive scoping study
was also a key outcome for 2022.
The project at Flanagan Bore based on a 20 year mine life has a $134 million NPV
and an IRR 66.7%.
So that’s a pretty decent project.
You know, 20 year mine life, 40 million tonnes over that mine life, mining at a rate
of that 2 million tonnes per annum.
So in addition to that we commenced metallurgical test work on the concentrates from diamond core that we drilled previously and we are progressing through those.
But the initial work that we’ve done at the scoping level indicates that we can achieve a 30%
plus manganese concentrate from the ores at Flanagan Bore, which is a fantastic start and at the moment we’re progressing through those.
In addition to that, we’ve also looked at battery grade manganese sulphate and the initial leaching test work that we completed last year.
Culminated in greater then a 99% purity manganese sulphate product being achieved as well in December last year.
And I guess to cap off the year we also earned 75% of the project as well.
So it’s been a busy year but 2023 also looks like it’ll be very positive and busy going forward.
