Brennan Cummins, Executive Director of Black Canyon. We recently announced the maiden mineral resource for the Balfour East and Damsite deposits.
Combined, they total 40 million tonnes at 11.9% manganese for 4.7Mtof contained manganese. This increases the global resources now across the Balfour manganese mineral field to 314Mt at 10.5% manganese for a combined total of 33.1Mt of contained manganese.
Significantly, Black Canyon has now discovered more than 33 Mt of contained manganese, which ranks us second in Australia, second only to the world class Groote Eylandt deposits.
This demonstrates the scale and potential of the Balfour manganese mineral field, which may be further enhanced with the estimation of exploration targets across the Balfour East and Pickering prospects, which you hope to be completed early next year.
Encouragingly, Black Canyon has also defined a high grade portion of the global mineral resource comprising 99 Mt at 12.9% manganese containing 12.8 Mt of manganese.
As the company progresses, development of feasibility studies in 2024 having access to shallow high grade manganese mineral resources adds value, significant value in terms of developing manganese concentrates and also options for high purity manganese sulfate feedstock.
